Figure 1

Text Box: CrIII ELV/ RoHS Compliant

Figure 1, shows the finish that Zinc Plate Thick Layer Passivate and Sealant will produce.

Figure 2, shows the finish that Zinc Plate and Thick Layer Passivate will produce.

The difference between the two can be seen, figure 1, has more of a glazed appearance by the sealant.

Thick layer Passivate is a process for zinc plating and is free of chrome (V1) once applied it produces a blue-violet iridescent finish on zinc deposits.

The corrosion resistance is excellent and is equivalent to the protecting qualities of chrome (V1) colour passivate.

Temperatures up to 150c does not affect the corrosion protection quality which is a complete contrast to chrome (V1) colour passivate, as a matter of fact temperatures 100c and above even improve the corrosion protection.

The development of the thick layer passivate is for new EU regulations regarding the Automotive and Electrical / Electronic Industries, these regulations came into force in 2007 .
This Passivate is also known as Full Passivate or Full Pass.
